Woman Killed After Being Struck By Car At Long Island Intersection

A woman was killed after being hit by a car at a Long Island intersection.

The crash happened at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024 at approximately 6:30 a.m., in West Babylon.

The woman was crossing Route 109 when she was struck by a southbound 2009 Nissan Altima at the intersection of Old Farmingdale Road, Suffolk County Police said.

The pedestrian, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver of the Altima, a 23-year-old West Babylon woman, was not injured.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
